As part of planned infrastructure work to improve the reliability and long-term performance of the campus cooling system, cooling service capacity to several buildings on the Fairfax Campus will be impacted beginning overnight on Thursday, July 16, at 10 p.m. and continuing until Friday, July 17, at noon.

To serve the increasing number of students experiencing basic needs insecurity, the center hired Dwayne Hamilton Jr. in 2023 as the university’s first assistant director for Basic Needs Services.

George Mason University President Gregory Washington has appointed General David W. Allvin, the 23rd Chief of Staff of the U.S. Air Force, as vice president for leadership and strategy. In the announcement, Washington said Allvin’s role is advisory in nature. Allvin is charged with advising and guiding efforts to strengthen George Mason’s positioning with various federal defense and national security research agencies.
